Strawberry Picking

Today we went to the strawberry farm with Ally. Strawberries are Linzi's favorite. We will be baking all kinds of strawberry goodies this week. Yummy! When I told Linzi we were going to the strawberry farm she asked if they had cows "with things that hang down to get the milk". I said "Oh, you mean the udders." She says "Yeah, you pull them and milk squirts out." LOL Now how does my little girl from the "burbs" know how to milk a cow? And no, there were no cows at the strawberry farm. I guess a trip to the dairy farm is in order too!

No self esteem issues here! :-)

Linzi put together this little ensemble herself. It is a red, white & blue gymnastics leotard, a pink tutu and lots of glittery play make up. We ordered Chinese for delivery for dinner (I am taking the night off from the kitchen to get other stuff done). When the delivery man came to the door with our dinner, Linzi came running up and says "I look beautiful, don't I?" Well, of course the man agrees she looked stunning, to which Linzi replies "Yep, I know." And runs off to do her thing.

Another funny from today -

Lately, Linzi loves to talk about my age. Not sure what is so facinating about it, but we have this conversation almost every day - she asks me how old I am and I say 40 (ssshhh) and she says in a very loud and enthusiastic voice - "Me too!!! We are both 4!!! Yay!!!" LOL So today, as I am shopping for clothes Linzi makes eye contact with the lady working the dressing room, which was quite a distance from us. As soon as she has the lady's attention, she yells "Hey! My mommy is 40!" In a really.loud.voice. (as in our "outside voice") Everyone in the store probably heard that announcement, I am sure of it. :D I thought having kids was supposed to keep you young...

My shy little girl is suddenly not so shy anymore. Lately, she is talking to everyone we come in contact with, about whatever (and I mean whatever) is on her mind. It is hilarious but I do need to reign her in a bit for safety and privacy reasons. I am loving the fact that she is sharing more of her silly little self with the world around us. We are spreading the joy everywhere we go! :D
