Linzi - isms

My funny, funny girl! Not a day goes by that she doesn't make me laugh, and I mean "bust a gut" and tears in your eyes kind of laughing! Before we ever left China, we knew we had a comedianne on our hands. She would make funny faces or gestures and wait for us to laugh. As soon as we did, she would break out into a smile that could light up the world and do it all over again. And her giggle. . . there is no sweeter sound! She is a giggler and has the rare talent to burst into a giggle fit for no apparent reason. If only we all could do that, imagine how much happier we would be!

Today was just a normal day. Nothing exciting or interesting happened. No good material to build on. Just plain ole' "Linzisms" that I don't want to ever forget! If she's not being silly, she is saying something that is is just too sweet for words.

#1
At Target, Linzi wanted popcorn and a drink. When asked what kind of drink she wanted, she shouts joyfully "I want some coconut!" Um, that would be coca cola sweetie. The whole time I am getting the drink, I am laughing and she is repeating over and over, "Coconut! Coconut! I want coconut!" When I hand her the drink, she sips it and says "Umm, I love coconut! It's my favorite!" "Mommy, do you want to try my coconut?"

Linzi "Mommy, do you know what?"
Me "What honey?"
Linzi "Today, I love you."
Me "I love you EVERYDAY honey!"
Linzi "Well, I love you TODAY!"

#3
Driving in the car with all three kids -
Linzi "Sissy, let's sing a song"
Mandi "Okay" so she starts to sing some random song
Linzi "No, let's sing a song to GOD!"
awwwwwwww!!!! Does it get any sweeter?!!!!

Everyday, Linzi says "TODAY is MY BIRTHDAY!!!" She is so insistent, that I just go along with it. You can't argue with her, there's no point, she is always right. So we just play along. I cannot tell you how many times we have been out somewhere and she will tell a stranger that today is her birthday. They always make a big fuss over her and wish her a Happy Birthday. I just smile politely and hope that we don't have the same conversation with the same person next week!

When she makes me laugh. . .
Linzi "Ummm, what's so funny?"
Me "You are such a funny girl"
Linzi "No, YOU are a funny girl!"
Me "YOU are silly!"
Linzi "No, YOU are silly!"
Me "YOU are my funny LuLu!"
Linzi "You are my funny mommy!"

Linzi is really into playing "kitty" and "doggie". She is constantly walking around on all fours pretending to be a cat or dog. She will even try to lick her juice from a cup. She plays "dead" ( I have no idea where she got that idea!) and rolls over with her tongue hanging out. When she is doggie or kitty mode, she does not talk, she responds with meows and woofs. She copies everything our real cats and dog do, right down to the way our dog sneezes. :-) Teddy has allergies and when he gets into a sneezing fit, they are so fierce, that he shakes his head and slams it on the ground with each sneeze. He will have at least 10 sneezes in a row. You don't know whether to laugh or cringe for him. Linzi has mastered Teddy's sneezes to perfection. Too funny! I just hope she doesn't get a concussion and I have to explain to that one to the doctor.

"Mommy, I missed you!" Keep in mind, we are together ALL day, EVERY DAY. She is my shadow and I don't even get to go to the bathroom without the pleasure of her company. I don't know how or when she could possibly miss me!!! I think she means to say "I love you" but when I respond with "I love You too honey", she shouts "No mommy, I MISS you!" She will go around and around with me until I finally say "I missed you too honey!" I told you there is no point in arguing with her. She is always right. :-)

And last, but not least - Almost everyday, at least once a day, she will grab my arm or hand in a very possessive way and say "This is MY mommy!". Sometimes when we are out she will make it a point to "introduce" me as her mommy.

Am I the luckiest mommy in the world or what?!!!
